Golf Instruction That Paints The Way To A More Enjoyable Game Of Golf⛳️
MY STORY
A Tin Cup story of the sorts! Nathan grew up playing 72 holes of golf a day every summer on a 9 hole cow pasture course called Bazoria Bend just outside of Houston TX. He played pickup games with his friends of all ages and backgrounds.
“Every night my dad and me would eat Taco Bell and turn on Tin Cup, I’ve watched that movie at least a 1000 times”
Growing up with separated parents Nathan spent summers in Houston and the rest of the year living with his Mom in Tucson AZ. In high school Nathan receive the player of the year honor 3 of the 4 years for the city of Tucson.
“I remember the first time playing Tubac and Star Pass in Tucson when my Dad drove out to visit, and seeing and hitting over the pond they build to film Tin Cup. It sounds silly to most but that was a big deal for us. I grew up playing country-pasture style golf and loved every minute of it and still do, I made it to the US Open, and I have the good/bad ESPN top 10 highlight but that’s not the end of my story.”
Nathan found his way onto the University of Arizona Wildcat's roster, where he was a constant feature till he graduated with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Physical Education. Nathan in his last year of college became the only player in history to qualify and make match play in the USGA’s US Amateur, US Public Links, and US Mid Amateur. While accomplishing that he also won the Arizona Amateur in dominating fashion and reach the top 20 in the world golf amateur rankings.
Out of college Nathan turned professional and had a steady 10 year long full time professional career, with career earnings of over a million dollars. He was a fully sponsored Nike athlete throughout his professional career. His career consisted of 30 plus mini tour professional wins including the 2012 Texas State Open, and he also finished on top of 7 different mini tour money lists competing against some of the world’s best players.
Nathan also competed on the Korn Ferry Tour holding a card in 2010, 2014, 2015, and 2016 with 56 Korn Ferry starts his credit. During this time he reached the top 300 in the world golf rankings.
Nathan also qualified and played in both the 2009 US Open @ Bethpage and 2009 Farmers Insurance Open @ Torrey Pines.
In 2017 Nathan decided to stop full time play as a professional and since then has built up quite the name for himself as a very easy to understand golf instructor. Although never fully giving up on his dreams as a player, he has found a very powerful passion for teaching the game right here in the Dallas area.
“Through teaching and helping people enjoy the game of golf, I have slowly gained a confidence that I lacked as a player. I like to say teaching is my drill, but most wont fully understand what I mean by that because there is so much to that statement. Teaching may be one of the most important drills I’ve ever done, if I’m ever to reach my dream“.
